PINKTOBER PREPAREDNESS

With "Pinktober" right around the corner, I received this morning from Dr. Susan Love's "Act With Love" Research Foundation. Dr. Love understands the challenges, the politics and the need for greater research (vs. "awareness") with regard to breast cancer and is busy putting programs in place to not just raise research dollars, but to actually tap the people of the world so we can assist in the research itself. It's pretty impressive...
For example, have you registered yet with Dr. Love's The Army of Women? If not, I encourage you to do so! Any woman (or man) can participate; you don't need to have a history of breast cancer. The Army of Women needs everyone. Here's why (in the Army's own words):
"You should sign up for your sister, mother, daughter, granddaughter, best friend, and the woman you met last week. Breast cancer has been around for decades, but it does not have to be our future. We can be the generation that stops breast cancer once and for all by figuring out what causes this disease and how to prevent it! This is YOUR chance to be part of the research that will end breast cancer."
Please pass this along to your friends and family. To sign up for The Army of Women, just click here.

Dr. Love has also created the Health of Women (HOW) study, which is very simple to participate in and all-inclusive (meaning anyone, anywhere in the world, can take part in the totally online study). In HOW's own words:
"The HOW study is a first-of-its-kind international online study for women and men with and without a history of breast cancer.  We will collect information about your health, your job, your diet, and your family history, among other topics that can help us get a better understanding of breast cancer and its potential causes.  Periodically, we will send you questionnaires about anything and everything. All you have to do is fill them out online."
To sign up for HOW, please click hereWe can't stop the scourage of cancer alone.

  2. dear renn,

thanks for posting this important message from dr. love. and for urging everyone to sign up for the AOW and the HOW study. so much of the time many of us feel frustrated, we wish we could DO something, we wish we could make a difference and contribute to the end of breast cancer. what AOW and HOW provide is a sure way to make a difference - signing up is easy! and reading about them, their goals, and the interesting array of studies is very interesting. sometimes it's a matter of doing what we CAN do that gets passed over. so c'mon, people - SIGN UP!!!

much love and thanks, renn XOXO

    Karen, TC
